  • Perra Pumps' Last Call

    In this solo show, the audience joins a drag queen who has just learned of an impending rent increase. She tries to make sense of this shift with her closest friend, DJ Mikey Flex, The Virgen De Guadalupe, and the spirits of the family she's built and sustained at the bar. Together, they share songs, stories, secrets, and tequila shots!
     
    Last Call had it's first workshop in 2012 at AS220’s 95 Empire in Rhode Island followed by a world premier at El Teatro Campesino in San Juan Bautista under the direction of Ruben C. Gonzalez.

  • Hope In the Misson

    Hope and the Mission is a bilingual coming-of-age story about the young character Hope, whose Mission District family finds itself on the sidelines of a changing neighborhood and at odds with each other over generational differences. Alongside the theme of gentrification, the play examines cultural identity and gender fluidity through song, dance, and humor. 

    Hope and the Mission was commissioned by Brava Theatre Center. The premier was directed by Gendell Hing-Hernandez

  • El Niñ

    El Niño

    El Niño tells the story of a son and his mother left to confront the ghost of the family patriarch, Don Alverez, after his death. While alive, Don Alverez was an immense asset to his community; and now, after his passing, his widow Elena is working tirelessly to erect a youth center in his honor in an effort to ensure her husband’s legacy is memorialized. On the eve of the center’s dedication, a storm brews, threatening to interrupt the ceremony. While contending with the storm, mother and son must reconcile a father’s fatal legacy before all is washed away.

  • Maravilla

    Lil’ Morena, is a elusive young pop sensation. At least, that’s who she is at the moment. The young diva is full of secrets, but she has survived that way since 1715. Now, after 300 years, she’s sick. The only thing that can save her is locked in box somewhere in the home of her recently deceased lover, Josefa. Lil has to get herself together, for her fans, her staff and herself without the love of her life. Maravilla is a story about the fragility of a love that has taken centuries to find and what happens when it dies. 

  • Housewarming

    Alma and Carmen just bought their first house, a large, rural dream home. To celebrate, they cook a big meal and invite their neighbors over for a housewarming party! They quickly realize that something is off about their neighbors and then about their neighborhood, but no one can leave the party because their cooking has attracted the attention creatures who’ve come out of hiding and who are also waiting for a meal.

  • Ten Minute Plays

    These plays were to be performed together as a 90-minute evening-length show and as stand-alone pieces. Two plays, Darkz and Seedling, are published in Lambda Literary’s Emerge Anthology.
