Everybody is a modern retelling of the 15th-century morality tale The Summoning of Everyman. Join Friendship, Kinship, Stuff, Mind, Five Senses, and Understanding as they guide Everybody on their journey through life and destiny and towards Love. Jacobs-Jenkins plays with fate through a casting lottery system and muses on the immorality of racism of our times.

Inspired by The House of Bernarda Alba by Federico García Lorca, Carlota: Jewelry Box of Secrets is set in the house that the protagonist, Carlota, inherited from her father. It is a house where time has stopped for her and her three daughters. One summer, Carlota, Soledad, her lifelong companion, and Carlota’s daughters attend the funeral of Heladio del Monte. Attending the wake unleashes a series of events that trigger the revelation of a secret that will change everyone’s lives.

Carlota was written in Spanish in 2016. This staged reading of Carlota was the first public reading of the script.

Curated & Directed by Javier Luis Hurtado, SABOR A MI is a showcase of queer Latinx writers and performers from across the country. Performances were recorded live in front of a small invited audience. The showcase was then made available digitally to a global audience.
